I am interested in process and relationships. One important relationship is that between time and place, two of the most important elements of our lives. Having an understanding of family history and closeness between relatives has always been significant to me. This project aims to bring together my mother’s and my adolescence into a believable set of images. I use process to reference the passage of time, traditional printing techniques are paired with digital image manipulation to create cohesive images. I select individual elements from my mother’s childhood photographs and place them into photographs of my own childhood to create an intersection between two separate times and places in our lives.
